Grove City falls on road

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped a 51-43 decision at Geneva Saturday night in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Metheny Field House.

Senior forward Hannah Jo Coneby (Maple Shade, N.J./Baptist) and junior guard Kelsey Shirey (Macedonia, Ohio/Nordonia) each poured in a dozen points for Grove City.

Grove City trailed 31-14 at halftime after going 5 for 24 (21 percent) from the field in the first half. For the game, the Wolverines shot 17 of 50 (34 percent). Geneva went 16 for 45 (36 percent) from the field. Grove City held Geneva to only four second-half field goals.

Sophomore forward Mary McDonald (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) pulled down six rebounds for Grove City. Geneva held a 38-33 advantage in rebounds. Grove City had 15 turnovers while Geneva turned over the ball 17 times.

Heidi Mann led Geneva (4-18, 3-13) with 20 points.

Grove City (7-16, 5-11) visits conference foe Westminster Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
