Westminster 71, Grove City 59

January 19, 1999--The Lady Wolverines' bid to get back to .500 came up short in New Wilmington as NAIA rival Westminster built on a two-point halftime edge to win 71-59.  Grove City fell to 6-8, while the Lady Titans improved to 2-12.

In a homecoming of sorts, Karin Hendrickson (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington) pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds and added nine points.   Krista Summers (Staunton, VA/Grace Christian) shared team high-point honors with nine markers.

Grove City grabbed its last lead, 27-26, with just under two minutes left in the first half.  A 48% first-half shooting percentage was offset by 17 turnovers in the first 20 minutes of play.  The Lady Wolverines shot 40% for the game, but just 13% (2-15) from outside the three-point arc.

The Lady Wolverines host Waynesburg in PAC action Saturday at 2:00 p.m.  The game can be heard live on 91.1 WSAJ-FM and over the internet via RealAudio.
