No. 2 Thomas More tops Grove City

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team dropped to 2-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by dropping an 86-31 decision to visiting Thomas More Monday night in the Grove City College Arena. Thomas More, ranked No. 2 in this week's D3Hoops.com Division III Top 25, improved to 11-0 overall and 4-0 in the conference.

Grove City (4-7 overall) jumped out to an early lead but Thomas More took control of the game with a 23-2 run midway through the first half. The Saints led 41-12 at halftime.

Senior guard Kelsey Shirey (Macedonia, Ohio/Nordonia) led Grove City with seven points while sophomore guard Teresa Dallatore (Mars, Pa./Mars) added six points. Freshman guard Lexie Arkwright (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) pulled down a team-high eight rebounds for Grove City.

Grove City went 11 for 51 (22 percent) from the field for the game. Thomas More shot 29 of 71 (41 percent). Thomas More held a 52-36 advantage in rebounds. The Saints also forced 31 turnovers. Sydney Moss led the Saints with 17 points and seven assists.

Grove City will host Westminster in conference action Wednesday evening at 5:30 p.m.
