Wolverines drop home opener

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team opened its 2015-16 home schedule Saturday afternoon with a 55-43 setback against visiting Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena.

Senior forward Kathryn Erbelding (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) paced Grove City with an 11-point, 11-steal double-double while junior guard Teresa Dallatore (Mars, Pa./Mars) added 10 points for the Wolverines (2-4, 0-2 PAC).

Grove City forced 27 turnovers and limited Waynesburg to a 20-for-62 (32 percent) shooting performance from the field. However, Grove City went 13 for 57 (23 percent) from the field. Waynesburg also owned a 54-39 advantage in rebounds.

Waynesburg led 11-7 after the first quarter and extended the lead to 31-19 by halftime.

Erbelding also led Grove City with eight rebounds while Dallatore and sophomore guard Lexie Arkwright (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) both had six boards. Arkwright added three steals.

Maura Bobby led Waynesburg (2-5, 1-1) with 13 points.

Grove City steps out of conference play Wednesday night when the Wolverines host Carnegie Mellon at 5:30 p.m.
