Five straight for Grove City

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team earned its fifth straight victory Saturday by earning a 67-45 win at Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Rissell-Beeghly Gymnasia.

Senior forward Kathryn Erbelding (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Olympia) generated a near triple-double in the win by scoring 20 points, pulling in 13 rebounds and collecting nine steals. Erbelding, who now has 997 career points, also had three assists.

Sophomore guard Lexie Arkwright (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) fired in 14 points and recorded five of Grove City's 23 steals.

Grove City forced 29 turnovers and held Thiel to a 15-of-44 (34 percent) shooting performance.

Grove City led 33-30 early in the third quarter before taking control of the game with an 8-0 run. Arkwright capped the run with a three-point play midway through the period. The Wolverines then outscored Thiel 18-5 in the fourth quarter.

Junior guard Teresa Dallatore (Mars, Pa./Mars) added a career-high nine rebounds and distributed four assists for Grove City (7-8, 5-3). The Wolverines held a 46-38 edge on the glass.

Taylor Ketler led Thiel (1-14, 1-7) with nine points.

Grove City has won five straight games for the first time since January 16-30, 2008. The Wolverines will look to extend the win streak to six Wednesday night at conference foe Bethany. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
