January 27, 1999--In her first career start, freshman Kristy Kegg (Johnstown,
PA/Ferndale) posted a game-high 19 points and eight assists to lead the Lady Wolverines
past host D'Youville, 69-39, in Buffalo, NY.
Kegg, who netted 12 points in the first half, was 8 for 11 from the floor, including 2 for 2 from three-point territory. She was also credited with three steals and three rebounds.
Freshman Stephanie Murphy (Munroe Falls, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) tallied nine points and four assists, sophomore Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) had eight points and sophomore Krista Summers (Staunton, VA/Grace Christian) chipped in with seven points. Yeats and freshman Erica Youngman (Portersville, PA/Slippery Rock) grabbed a team-high five boards each.
The Lady Wolverines drilled 6 of 11 three-pointers in the first half en route to a 39-23 lead at intermission.
Grove City improved to 8-8 overall and will play defending PAC champion Washington
& Jefferson Saturday at 1:00 p.m. D'Youville fell to 3-12.
