Grove City 84, Thiel 65
February 20, 1999--Karin Hendrickson (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington) led five Lady Wolverines in double-figures with 19 points and Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds as Grove City defeated Thiel, 84-65, and set the stage for a Presidents' Athletic Conference championship showdown next Tuesday in Bethany, West Virginia.
Grove City and Bethany bring identical 6-1 conference records into Tuesday's regular-season finale, which tips off at 8:00 p.m. Bethany kept pace by defeating Waynesburg on Saturday 102-63.
Henrdrickson, in her home finale, drilled 6 of 9 shots from the floor and 6 of 7 from
the free-throw line. She added six assists, six boards and two steals. Jackie
Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) was a perfect 6 for 6 from the
field and finished with 14 points. Krista Summers (Staunton, VA/Grace Christian)
poured in 12, Yeats added 11 and Erica Youngman (Portersville, PA/Slippery Rock) chipped
in with 10.
The Lady Wolverines, who improved to 14-9 overall, have now won six straight games and nine of their last 10. Thiel fell to 13-11, 2-6 in the PAC.
Tuesday's game can be heard on 91.1, WSAJ-FM and over the internet via RealAudio. The Lady Wolverines seek their first PAC title since 1986-87.
