Grove City 61, Penn State-Behrend 54

December 4, 1998--Talk about a quick recovery.

The Lady Wolverines rebounded from Wednesday's 52-point loss at Baldwin-Wallace with a 61-54 triumph over Penn State-Behrend in the first round of the Behrend Winter Classic in Erie, PA. 

Senior Karin Hendrickson (New Wilmington, PA/Wilmington) led three Lady Wolverines in double-digit points with 16 markers, canning 8 of 12 shots from the floor.  Junior Jackie Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) had 14 points on 7 of 13 shooting, while sophomore Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) exited with 12 points, going 6 for 10 from the field.  Becker added a team-best nine rebounds, while Hendrickson collected five boards, four assists and four steals.

Grove City shot 43.8%  (28-64) from the floor, compared to its 25.5% (12-47) showing on Wednesday.

The Lady Wolverines seek the tournament title Saturday against Wilmington (OH), who defeated Albright in the other semifinal, 79-68.  The championship game tips-off at 3:00 p.m.
