GCC Drops AmeriHost Semi To Juniata Box Score GROVE CITY, PA, November 19, 1999--Forwards Jackie Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) and Livia Wright (Economy, PA/Ambridge) scored in double-figures, but the host Lady Wolverines could not get past Juniata in the 1999 AmeriHost Inn East-West Classic semifinals. Juniata prevailed 68-41 and will play in Saturday's Championship Game at 3:00 p.m. against Washington & Jefferson, who was a 60-57 winner over Cabrini in Friday's other semi. Grove City and Cabrini will meet at 1:00 p.m. in the Consolation Game. Becker finished with a team-high 12 points on 6-for-13 shooting, while Wright posted 10 points and added a team-best eight rebounds. Forward Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) contributed seven points and seven boards. Juniata, from the Middle Atlantic Conference, outshot Grove City from the floor 42% to 26%. |
