Lady Wolverines Claim Consolation Win

GROVE CITY, PA, November 20, 1999--Jackie Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) posted a game-high 18 points and 14 rebounds as the Lady Wolverines evened their record at 1-1 with a 64-55 win over Cabrini (0-2) in the Consolation Game of the AmeriHost Inn East-West Classic.

Becker, voted to the All-Tournament Team, canned 7 of 14 shots from the floor and 4 of 5 from the free-throw line.  The 5-10 senior forward tallied a team-best 12 points in Friday’s season opener against Juniata.

Kristina Dixon (Smethport, PA/Smethport) had 10 points and eight boards in the win.  Heather Gottshall Valencia, PA/Knoch) pulled down 10 rebounds, including nine on the defensive end.  Livia Wright (Economy, PA/Ambridge) chipped in with eight points, five caroms and four assists.

Juniata won the Championship Game in overtime over Washington & Jefferson, 68-65.
