Lady Wolverines Top Hiram By 20 Box Score GROVE CITY, PA, December 14, 1999--Kristina Dixon (Smethport, PA/Smethport) rifled in five three-pointers as Grove City posted its second straight 20-point victory, beating visiting Hiram, 59-39. The Lady Wolverines improved to 5-3, while the Lady Terriers fell to 3-6. Dixon was 5-for-9 from outside the arc and finished with a team-high 15 points. Jackie Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.), this week's Presidents' Athletic Conference player of the week, had 14 points and a game-best 12 rebounds. Erica Youngman (Slippery Rock, PA/Slippery Rock) scored 10 and added three steals. Hiram, plagued by 30 turnovers, was paced by LeeAnn Schaffert's 16 points and 10 boards. The Lady Wolverines defeated Notre Dame (OH), 72-52, last Saturday in the consolation game of the Wooster Tournament. |
