Lady Wolverines Beat Behrend, 53-49 Box Score ERIE, PA, January 6, 2000 --Jackie Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) paced ten Lady Wolverines in the scoring column with 12 points as Grove City defeated host Penn State Behrend, 53-49, in Erie. The Lady Wolverines improved to 6-4 overall, while Behrend fell to 7-5. Becker went 6-for-9 from the floor and recorded a game-high nine rebounds. Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) and Kristy Kegg (Johnstown, PA/Ferndale) chipped in with eight points apiece and Cara Denniston (Grove City, PA/Grove City) had seven. Kegg and Kristina Dixon (Smethport, PA/Smethport) each grabbed six boards, while Yeats added four assists. Grove City led 33-23 at halftime on 12-for-26 shooting (46%), before going 8-for-28 in the second half (29%) to finish 37% on the night. The Lady Lions were held to 33% shooting in the game (17-51). Kate Costanzo scored a team-high 12 points for Behrend. |
