Grove City Shoots Down Pitt-Bradford
BRADFORD, PA, January 29 , 2000 --Grove City overcame a seven-point halftime deficit with 61% shooting (17-28) the rest of the way in a 65-54 non-conference victory at Pitt-Bradford Saturday afternoon.
Livia Wright (Economy, PA/Ambridge) scored a team-high 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting and Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) posted 11 points, five rebounds and three assists for the Lady Wolverines, who improved to 10-6 overall. The Lady Panthers fell to 7-10.
Kristy Kegg (Johnstown, PA/Ferndale) and Jackie Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville) pulled down six boards each and Stephanie Murphy (Munroe Falls, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) contributed four steals.
Pitt-Bradford outshot Grove City 57% to 39% in the first half to take a 34-27 lead at intermission. However, the Lady Panthers were held to just 35% shooting (7-20) in the second half as GCC outscored them, 38-20.
The Lady Wolverines look to even its 1-2 conference mark next Wednesday at Waynesburg. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
