Bethany Keeps Streak Alive at GCC Box Score GROVE CITY, PA, February 5, 2000 --Grove City led first-place Bethany through the first 23 minutes, but the Bison rallied to win 65-52, improving their league record to 5-0 (16-3 overall) and extending their winning streak to seven. Grove City fell to 2-3 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference, 11-7 overall. The Lady Wolverines led by as many as nine points in the first half and didn't surrender a field goal in the first seven minutes. Bethany came back from a 20-11 deficit to trail by two at halftime, 30-28. The Bison went on an 8-0 run early in the second half to capture its first lead, but Grove City recovered to take a 39-37 edge with 12:45 showing. Bethany countered with a 14-4 run and never trailed the rest of the way. Kristina Dixon (Smethport, PA/Smethport) scored a team-high 19 points for GCC and Kristy Kegg (Jonhstown, PA/Ferndale) added 10. Kegg and Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) each grabbed six rebounds. Jill Kamerer led Bethany in the point column with 24. Rose Scott chipped in with 12. The Lady Wolverines next host Chatham Monday at 7:00 p.m. |
