GROVE CITY, PA, February 19, 2000 --Heather Gottshall (Valencia, PA/Knoch) led three Lady Wolverines in double figures with 15 points as the Lady Wolverines punctuated their Presidents' Athletic Conference slate with a 69-45 victory over visiting Waynesburg.

The win snapped a three-game losing skid and improved Grove City's record to 13-10 overall, 3-5 in the PAC.  Waynesburg fell to 1-21, 0-8 in the league.  The two schools will meet in the first round of the 2000 PAC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament next Wednesday, February 23, at 6:00 p.m. in Grove City.  The winner will advance to Friday's semifinals against top-seeded Bethany in Bethany, WV.

Gottshall was near perfect Saturday, hitting 5 of 5 from the floor and 5 of 6 from the free-throw line.  Kristina Dixon (Smethport, PA/Smethport) and Stephanie Murphy (Munroe Falls, OH/Stow-Munroe Falls) drilled a pair of three-pointers each and finished with 13 and 10 points, respectively.

Jackie Becker (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville-Broadview Hts.) returned from a six-game absence due to an ankle injury and recorded a game-high 14 rebounds and eight points.  Becker, the team's only senior, was honored in a pre-game Senior Day ceremony.  An accounting major, she was accompanied on the floor by her parents, Joe and Jean Becker.

The Lady Wolverines conclude their regular season Tuesday at Geneva.   Tip-off time is 7:00 p.m.
