Geneva Defeats GCC, 55-48

GROVE CITY, PA, February 22, 2000 --Livia Wright (Economy, PA/Ambridge) made the most of her return to Beaver County with a team-high 14 points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots, but the Lady Wolverines dropped a non-conference decision to host Geneva, 55-48, in Beaver Falls on Tuesday.

Grove City closed its regular-season slate with an overall record of 13-11 and will host Waynesburg on Wednesday in the first round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament.  Geneva improved to 15-12.

T.L. Thompson (Girard, PA/Girard) nailed 3 of 3 three-pointers and finished with a career-high 11 points in the loss.  Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) and Heather Gottshall (Valencia, PA/Knoch) grabbed seven and six boards, respectively.

The Lady Wolverines held Geneva to 32% shooting in the game.   The Golden Tornadoes, however, netted 17 of 25 from the free-throw line, while Grove City attempted just six free throws, making five.

Geneva led 30-25 at halftime.
