READING, PA, March 1, 2000 --Livia Wright (Economy, PA/Ambridge) recorded a career-high 16 rebounds and added 12 points as the fifth-seeded Lady Wolverines defeated host and third-seed Alvernia College, 63-52, in the first round of the ECAC Southern Championship Tournament.

With the win, Grove City (15-12) advances to Saturday's semifinal round to face top-seeded Lebanon Valley College (17-8) at Wesley College in Dover, Delaware at 4:00 p.m.

Grove City outshot Alvernia, 42% to 35%, but held its greatest advantage under the boards, outrebounding the Lady Crusaders, 47-30.

Wright was one of four Lady Wolverines in double figures.   Lindsay Yeats (McLean, VA/Langley) and Cara Denniston posted (Grove City, PA/Grove City) 12 points and five rebounds apiece.  Kristy Kegg (Johnstown, PA/Ferndale) chipped in with 10 points and eight boards.

Erin McDougall tallied a team-high 11 points for the Lady Crusaders (19-8).

Grove City led 33-29 at halftime.

The Lady Wolverines defeated Ursinus to win the 1997 ECAC Southern championship title.  They lost in the first round of the ECAC playoffs the following year to Pitt-Bradford.
