GCC claims second place at
Waynesburg Invite
CARMICHAELS, PA, April 17, 2002--The Lady Wolverine golf team and top freshman
Mary Brown (Carnegie, PA/Carlynton) were the leading Division III finishers in the
field at Wednesday's Waynesburg Invitational, held at Carmichaels Golf Course.
Brown, winner of the Presidents' Athletic Conference player of the week award for the second straight week, fired a 39 to place third overall and help Grove City place second in the six-school field.
Ann Powroznik of Fairmont State earned medalist honors in a playoff after shooting 37.
West Liberty won the event with a team score of 167, followed by Grove City (182), Fairmont State (183), Washington & Jefferson (196), Westminster (207) and Glenville State (214). Waynesburg and Bethany competed but did not field full teams.
