Grove City 2nd at Waynesburg Invitational
CANONSBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team opened the 2007 season Tuesday afternoon by placing second in the Waynesburg Invitational at Southpointe Country Club. Grove City posted a four-player score of 409. Westminster won with 403 total strokes. Waynesburg took third at 582.
Freshman Renee Ward (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) earned medalist honors by firing an 89. It is her first collegiate title. Senior Emily Coury (Canton, Ohio/North Canton Hoover) placed fourth overall in the field.
Grove City will compete in the Capital Crusader Invitational Friday and Saturday in Columbus, Ohio.
