Wolverines capture 2nd at Grove City Invitational
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team opened the spring portion of the schedule by placing second at its own Invitational Saturday afternoon at Grove City Country Club.
The Wolverines accumulated a team score of 388 and trailed champion Washington & Jefferson (377) by just 11 strokes. Baldwin-Wallace followed in third with a score of 400, followed by Clarion (412), Westminster (417) and Franklin & Marshall (425).
Freshman Arielle Goyzueta (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen) paced Grove City by placing fourth overall with a 90.
W&J's Leslie Walker earned medalist honors with an 86. Clarion's Samantha Veights took second with an 88.
Grove City will compete in the Capital Invitational next Friday and Saturday at Foxfire Golf Course.
