Grove City earns 2nd at PAC Championships
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team earned second place overall in the team standings at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships, held Tuesday at Oak Tree Country Club. Grove City posted a team score of 368 Tuesday. Combined with the Wolverines' 761 team score at the Fall Championships, Grove City recorded a total score of 1129. Washington & Jefferson won the conference title with a total score of 1076. W&J also fired a 368 Tuesday. Wednesday's 18 holes will not be held due to impending inclement weather.
Two Grove City golfers earned First Team All-PAC honors. Freshman Arielle Goyzueta (Goshen, N.Y./Goshen) took second overall with an 86 while junior Shayla Benninger (Butler, Pa./Butler) tied for third with an 89.
Sophomore Jessica Johansen (Parsippany, N.J./Parsippany Hills) finished sixth with a 96 while junior Michelle Peck (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) finished ninth with a 97. Both Johansen and Peck earned Second Team All-PAC.
Sophomore Casey Warso (New Castle, Pa./Neshannock) tied for 13th with a 105. W&J's Leslie Walker earned medalist honors with an 84.
