Durling earns medalist; Wolverines take 2nd
WEST MIDDLESEX, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team placed second at the two-day Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at Oak Tree Country Club. Grove City finished the 36-hole event with a team score of 732. Washington & Jefferson won the team title with a 717 and Westminster finished third at 739.
Sophomore Esther Durling (Perry, Mich./Perry) earned medalist honors by carding a two-day score of 162. She posted a nine-stroke victory over runner-up Jennifer Suder of Washington & Jefferson.
Junior Kayla Finney (Valencia, Pa./Mars) took 10th for Grove City with a 186 and sophomore Meghan Love (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) earned 12th with a 191.
The team scores from the Fall Invitational will carry over into the spring championships, scheduled for April 22-23, 2012. The individual scores do not count toward All-PAC honors, however. The All-Conference teams will solely be based upon the spring portion of the championships.
