Wolverines win Waynesburg Invitational
WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team won the Waynesburg Invitational Monday afternoon at Greene County Country Club, edging runner-up Point Park by six strokes. The Wolverines finished with a team score of 390 while Point Park had 396. Waynesburg finished third with a 494.
Three Grove City golfers finished in the top five individually. Senior Ellie Stanchak (McMurray, Pa./Peters Township) paced the Wolverines by taking second overall with a 94. Sophomore Victoria Van Buskirk (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) earned fourth with a 96 and classmate Esther Durling (Perry, Mich./Perry) placed fifth with a 97.
Point Park's Caroline Collins earned medalist with a 92.
Grove City will host its annual Grove City Invitational Saturday at Grove City Country Club.
