Grove City takes fifth at home invitational
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team shot a 412 to finish fifth out of seven teams at their own Fall Invitational at the Grove City Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
Senior Esther Durling (Perry, Mich./Perry) fired an 85 to finish tied for fourth in the 35-golfer field while freshman Carolyn Jack (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) shot a 45 on the back nine to finish second on the team with a 103. Junior Rebecca Shakely (Butler, Pa./Butler) and sophomore Leah Wilson (Solon, Ohio/Solon) shot a 111 and 113, respectively.
Carnegie Mellon claimed the team title with a four-player score of 345 while the Tartans' Summer Kitahara claimed medalist honors with a low round of 79.
The Wolverines return to action on Saturday at the Thiel Invitational.
