Grove City finishes third at home invitational

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team shot a team score of 387 to finish third out of seven teams at its own Spring Invitational at the Grove City Country Club on a rainy Monday afternoon.

Junior Esther Durling (Perry, Mich./Perry) led the Wolverines and finished as invitational runner-up with an 89 while freshman Jordan Greenwall (Denver, Colo./Arapahoe) shot a 96 to finish eighth in the 37-golfer field. Senior Kayla Finney (Valencia, Pa./Mars) tied for ninth with a 97 while junior Victoria Van Buskirk (Alliance, Ohio/Marlington) was 23rd with a 105.

Karina Palmberg of NAIA member Point Park earned medalist honors with a round of 84 while NCAA Division II member Clarion took the team title with a foursome score of 376. Grove City was first among Division III teams in attendance.

Today's match concludes the Wolverines' regular season. Grove City will next be in action on April 25 and 26 at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Spring Golf Championships at Cedarbrook Golf Course in Belle Vernon.
