Grove City competes at Westminster Fall Invite

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team opened the 2015-16 season with a sixth-place finish at the seven-team Westminster College Fall Invitational at the New Castle Country Club on Saturday afternoon.

Senior Katie Birmingham (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) fired a 105 to lead the Wolverines to a team score of 433 while sophomore Carolyn Jack (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) posted a 107 to finish second among Grove City players. Freshman Molly Arendt (Coldwater, Mich./Hillsdale Academy) shot a 110 in her first collegiate competition while senior Rebecca Shakely (Butler, Pa./Butler) recorded a 111 to round out the Wolverines' four counting scores.

Freshman Ashley Winters (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) shot a 122 in her first match as a Wolverine to complete the Grove City contingent.

Grove City returns to action next Saturday when they host their own Fall Invitational at the Grove City Country Club at 3 p.m.
