Grove City women take fourth at PAC Fall Championships
BELLE VERNON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team posted a 420 on Day Two of the Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Championships to finish fourth in the 36-hole event with a two-day total of 842 on Saturday afternoon at Cedarbrook Golf's Red Course.
Sophomore Carolyn Jack (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) led the Wolverines for the second day in a row with a 102 to finish the weekend with a 199, good for 16th in the 34-golfer field. Senior Katie Birmingham (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) posted a 105 to go with a Day One 107 to sit 20th with a 212 while freshman Molly Arendt (Coldwater, Mich./Hillsdale Academy) fired a season-best 105 for a two-day total of 215.
Senior Rebecca Shakely (Butler, Pa./Butler) posted her second-straight round of 108 for a weekend total of 216 and freshman Ashley Winters (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) added a 114 to finish the fall championships with a 226.
Washington and Jefferson won the Fall Championships with a 709 and carries a 61-stroke lead into the spring event. Saint Vincent sits in second place with a 770 while Thomas More is third with a 778.
W&J's Jocelyn Sudar fired a 78 to finish the weekend with a two-day score of 166 and earn medalist honors.
Grove City will host the spring portion of the conference championships at the Grove City Country Club April 29-30, 2016.
The Wolverines will still look to make up their own Fall Invitational, which was rained out on September 19, to conclude their fall schedule. No makeup date has yet been set.
