Grove City 2nd at Thiel

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team placed second out of five teams Saturday afternoon at the Thiel College Invitational, held at The Greens of Greenville. Grove City finished the event with a team score of 429. Saint Vincent won the team title with a 394.

Sophomore Carolyn Jack (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) placed fifth individually for Grove City by shooting a 97. Senior Rebecca Shakely (Butler, Pa./Butler) took eighth with a 102.

Saint Vincent's Samantha Firestone earned medalist honors with a 91.

Grove City returns to action Thursday at the Saint Vincent Invitational in Latrobe, Pa.
