Wolverines third at Westminster Invitational

NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team fired a score of 443 to finish third out of five teams at the Westminster College Women's Golf Spring Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the New Castle Country Club.

 Sophomore Carolyn Jack (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) led the Wolverines and finished in a tie for 12th in the 28-golfer field with a round of 100 while freshman Molly Arendt (Coldwater, Mich./Hillsdale Acad.) matched her season-best from last week's Saint Vincent Invitational with a score of 108.

Carnegie Mellon, led by a medalist round of 81 from Summer Kitahara, won the team title with a score of 353, edging second place Washington & Jefferson's 356. Clarion (463) and Westminster (464) rounded out the competition.

Grove City returns to action this Friday and Saturday at the 2016 Presidents' Athletic Conference Spring Golf Championships at the Grove City Country Club. The Wolverines are fourth out of seven teams following the Fall Championships with a 36-hole score of 842. Competition begins at 10 a.m. each day.
