Lady Wolverines boot W&J, 8-1

GROVE CITY, PA, September 23, 2000--Senior Erica Snow (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) netted her first career hat trick as the Lady Wolverines defeated visiting Washington & Jefferson, 8-1, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action Saturday afternoon.  The win upped Grove City's record to 6-2 overall, 2-0 in the PAC.

Senior Nanmarie Woodford (Fairfax, VA/Bethlehem Baptist) recorded a pair of goals and one assist for GCC, while freshman Lindsey Cuffe (Columbia Falls, MT/Columbia Falls), sophomore Karen Reefer (Butler, PA/Slippery Rock) and junior Adrienne Hill (Portville, NY/Portville Central) added a goal each.  Freshman Megan Sparks (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll) contributed two assists. 

Snow, who now has five goals on the season, scored twice in the first half, helping Grove City post a 4-0 lead at intermission.  

Junior Erica Long (Cranberry Twp., PA/Slippery Rock) made three first-half saves and sophomore Katy Turman (Meadowbrook, PA/Abington) stopped four shots in the second half.  W&J avoided the shutout with a goal in the 87th minute.

The Lady Wolverines outshot the Presidents, 25-9.
