Grove City nets key PAC victory

GROVE CITY, PA, September 29, 2000--The Lady Wolverine soccer team assumed sole possession of first place in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Friday, defeating visiting Waynesburg by a 4-1 final.  Grove City improved to 7-3 overall, 3-0 in the PAC, while the Lady Yellow Jackets dropped to 7-4 on the year, 3-1 in the league.

Freshman Meg Tilley (Columbia, MD/Hammond) helped Grove City open up a 2-0 lead with her team-leading seventh and eighth goals of the season, both off passes from senior Erica Snow (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek).  Sophomore Karen Reefer (Butler, PA/Slippery Rock) upped the lead to 3-0 with her fourth goal of the season, assisted by senior Nanmarie Woodford (Fairfax, VA/Bethlehem Baptist).  Senior Alejandra Medina (Strongsville, OH/Bethlehem Catholic) widened the advantage to 4-0 in the 58th minute by burying her first career goal on a penalty kick.

The Lady Wolverines out-shot Waynesburg, 17-5.
