Grove City thumps Thiel, 9-0

GROVE CITY, PA, October 7, 2000--The Grove City College women's soccer team booted its county rival on Saturday, scoring seven goals in the first half en route to a 9-0 victory over visiting Thiel College.

The Lady Wolverines, winners of three straight and five of six, improved to 9-3 overall and 5-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.  Thiel dropped to 3-11, 1-5 in the PAC.

Eight players found the scoring column led by sophomore Christine Litwa (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), who finished with a pair of goals and one assist.  Adding a goal each were sophomore Karen Reefer (Butler, PA/Slippery Rock), senior Nanmarie Woodford (Fairfax, VA/Bethlehem Baptist), senior Erica Snow (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek), freshman Meg Tilley (Columbia, MD/Hammond), freshman Megan Sparks (Bel Air, MD/John Carroll), junior Adrienne Hill (Portville, NY/Portville Central) and junior Andrea Sewell (Vienna, VA/Fairfax Baptist).

Tilley recorded two assists, while freshman Danielle Balliet (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel), senior Alejandra Medina (Strongsville, OH/Bethlehem Catholic) and junior Jenny Duly (Canton, OH/Central Catholic) contributed one assist each.

The Lady Wolverines outshot the Lady Cats, 28-2.
