Grove City headed for PAC title game  

GROVE CITY, PA, October 27, 2000--The Lady Wolverine soccer team earned a spot in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Tournament Championship Game with a 5-0 victory over visiting Bethany in Friday's semifinals.

Grove City, the tournament's top seed, will play second-seeded Waynesburg in the championship on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.  The Yellow Jackets shut out Washington & Jefferson, 1-0, in Friday's other semifinal.  The Lady Wolverines defeated Waynesburg in both regular season meetings by finals of 4-1 and 3-1.

Senior Erica Snow (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) accounted for two Lady Wolverine goals off passes from freshman Meg Tilley (Columbia, MD/Hammond).  Tilley headed in the game's opening goal in the 18th minute, assisted by sophomore Christine Litwa (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa).

Sophomore Karen Reefer (Butler, PA/Slippery Rock) and junior Adrienne Hill (Portville, NY/Portville Central) also netted goals off passes from Snow and freshman Megan Sparks (Bel Air, MD.John Carroll), respectively.

Grove City outshot Bethany, 27-3, as sophomore Katy Turman (Meadowbrook, PA/Abington) and junior Erica Long (Cranberry Twp., PA/Slippery Rock) combined on the shutout.

The Lady Wolverines are seeking their first PAC title since they won three straight in 1995, '96 and '97.
