Lady Wolverine season ends in ECAC opener  

ANNVILLE, PA, November 1, 2000--The third-seeded Grove City College women's soccer team lost in the preliminary round of the 2000 ECAC Mid-Atlantic Championship Tournament on Wednesday as sixth-seeded and host Lebanon Valley College prevailed, 2-1, outside Harrisburg. 

Lebanon Valley broke a scoreless tie in the 65th minute and added a second goal less than three minutes later.  The Lady Wolverines cut the deficit in half in the 84th minute when senior Nanmarie Woodford (Fairfax, VA/Bethlehem Baptist) netted her eighth goal of the season, assisted by freshman Meg Tilley (Columbia, MD/Hammond).

Grove City sophomore goalkeeper Katy Turman (Meadowbrook, PA/Abington) made 12 saves as the Dutchmen outshot the Lady Wolverines, 16-6.

Grove City closed the year with an overall record of 14-6, marking the winningest season in its nine-year history.  Lebanon Valley improved to 13-4-1 and advances to Saturday's semifinals at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD.
