Two earn All-Region

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Two Grove City College women's soccer players earned All-Great Lakes Region honors from D3Kicks.com Thursday afternoon. Freshman midfielder Emily Ostlund (Minnetonka, Minn./Hopkins) earned First Team All-Region honors while junior defender Kristin Colley (Pittsburgh, Pa./Penn-Trafford) earned Third Team recognition.

Both Ostlund and Colley had key roles in leading Grove City to a 16-4-1 overall record and the top seed in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southern Championship Tournament.

Ostlund made an immediate impact in her first season at Grove City. She started all 21 matches and led the Wolverines with 15 goals and 31 points. She also led the squad with five game-winning goals during the 2007 season. Ostlund also earned First Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference following the season.

Colley helped anchor one of the region's top defenses this year from her center back position. Colley started all 21 matches and helped Grove City match a single-season school record with 11 shutouts. Her defensive work helped the Wolverines record a 0.85 goals-against average, which is the lowest in program history.

Colley also earned First Team All-PAC honors for the second consecutive season.

Last month, Ostlund, Colley and junior Stephanie Wild (Carmel, Ind./Heritage Christian) all earned All-Region recognition from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
