Allegheny nips Lady Wolverines
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team fell to host Allegheny 2-1 in non-conference action Thursday afternoon in Meadville.
Grove City trailed 1-0 at halftime but tied the match at the 51:26 mark on an unassisted breakaway goal from senior Meg Tilley (Columbia, Md./Hammond).
Allegheny broke the tie 21 minutes later on a goal from Jill Gray.
Allegheny (4-1-1) out-shot Grove City (1-3-1) 19-4. In goal, sophomore Lindsay Thompson (Woodstown, N.J./Woodstown) stopped seven shots for Grove City.
The Lady Wolverines will host Mount Union Saturday at 1 p.m.
