Grove City blanks Behrend for 7th straight victory

ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team picked up its seventh straight win with a 6-0 non-conference win at Penn State Behrend Monday afternoon.

Grove City (8-3-1) jumped out to a 2-0 halftime lead on a pair of unassisted goals from sophomore Kate Klingensmith (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland). Klingensmith's first goal came at the 6:45 mark while the second goal gave Grove City a 2-0 lead in the 39th minute. 

Four different Lady Wolverines scored in the second half as Grove City put the match away. Junior Michelle Novosel (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) scored off a Jessica Smith (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) assist in the 48th minute while junior Autumn Hubbard (Nampa, Idaho/Nampa Christian) extended the lead to 4-0 with an unassisted goal in the 52nd minute.

The goal is Hubbard's first of the season. 

Senior Meg Tilley (Columbia, Md./Hammond) and Leah Partridge (Newport, Vt./United Christian) added goals in the 63rd and 66th minutes, respectively. Sophomore Stacey Brubaker (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) assisted Tilley's goal while Novosel assisted Partridge's score.

Sophomore Lindsay Thompson (Woodstown, N.J./Woodstown) picked up the shutout, making one save.
