Grove City rallies for win at La Roche, extends streak to 13
PITTSBURGH -- Junior Michelle Novosel (New Wilmington, Pa./Wilmington) scored the game-tying goal midway through the second half, then supplied the assist on the game-winner in overtime as the Grove City College women's soccer team won its 13th consecutive match Thursday afternoon, securing a 2-1 win at La Roche.
Novosel sent her 12th assist of the season to senior Meg Tilley (Columbia, Md.), who scored the game-winner 3:15 into overtime. It is Tilley's team-high 16th goal of the season.
Grove City (14-3-1) trailed 1-0 at halftime but tied the match in the 64th minute as Novosel scored following an assist from sophomore Stacey Brubaker (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston).
Sophomore Lindsay Thompson (Woodstown, N.J./Woodstown) stopped four shots to pick up her 13th win.
Grove City will host Bethany Saturday on Senior Day.
