Westminster rallies past Grove City in PAC finals

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Visiting Westminster pulled out a 3-2 victory over Grove City in the championship match of the Presidents' Athletic Conference women's soccer tournament Saturday afternoon at College Field.

The victory gives Westminster its second consecutive conference title. Grove City's school-record 15-match win streak ends, also.

Grove City took a 2-1 in the first half on goals from sophomore Stacey Brubaker (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) and freshman Maia Siber (Canton, Ohio/Canton McKinley). Brubaker tied the match in the 15th minute while Siber put Grove City on top in the 29th minute. Senior Meg Tilley (Columbia, Md./Hammond) assisted Siber's score.

Westminster's Angie DePasquale knotted the match at 2-2 in the 42nd minute before Chovan broke the tie early in the second half.

Sophomore Lindsay Thompson (Woodstown, N.J./Woodstown) stopped two shots for the Lady Wolverines (16-4-1).

Grove City could receive either an NCAA Tournament or ECAC Tournament berth Sunday night.
