Grove City rallies for 2-2 draw
GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to earn a 2-2 double-overtime tie with visiting Penn State Behrend Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action at College Field.
Penn State Behrend (2-1-1) took a 2-0 lead 28 minutes into the match on unassisted goals from Julie Quail and Holly Greiner. However, freshman Bethany Peck (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) scored on a rebound in the 29th minute, slashing the lead in half. Junior Katie Klingensmith (Wexford, Pa./Pine-Richland) supplied the assist.
Klingensmith then tied the match in the 40th minute with an unassisted goal, her first of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kori Koper (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) stopped eight shots for Grove City (2-4-1). The Wolverines return to action Saturday at John Carroll.
