Brubaker scores twice as Grove City blanks Raiders

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- Junior forward Stacey Brubaker (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) scored a pair of second-half goals Wednesday night, helping the Grove City College women's soccer team record a 2-0 win at Mount Union in non-conference action.

Brubaker broke the scoreless tie in the 83rd minute by scoring off a corner kick from freshman Bethany Peck (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air). Four minutes later, Brubaker doubled Grove City's lead by scoring her team-leading sixth goal of the season. Sophomore Maia Siber (Canton, Ohio/Canton McKinley) supplied the assist.

In goal, sophomore Kori Koper (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) stopped six shots, earning her third shutout win of the year. Mount Union (0-6) out-shot Grove City 13-11.

The Wolverines host Allegheny Saturday afternoon in non-conference action at 1 p.m.
