Grove City earns draw at Washington and Jefferson

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team is 3-2-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference after playing to a 1-1 tie at PAC rival Washington and Jefferson Tuesday night at Alexandre Stadium.

Grove City (3-8-1 overall) took a 1-0 lead at the 29:09 mark as senior defender Kristin Hummel (Greensboro, Ala./Cherry Hill East, N.J.) scored off a corner kick by junior midfielder Maia Siber (Canton, Ohio/Canton McKinley). It is Hummel's first goal of the season.

Washington and Jefferson (6-7-1, 4-2-1 PAC) tied the match at 56:55 on a goal by Jen Pergola. In overtime, Grove City owned a 5-2 edge in shots. For the match, Grove City out-shot the Presidents, 14-10.

Freshman goalkeeper Bethany Preston (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) stopped three shots for Grove City. The Wolverines will host PAC rival Westminster Thursday at 4 p.m.
