Grove City blanks Muskingum

NEW CONCORD, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's soccer team is now 6-2 after a 2-0 victory at Muskingum (3-6) Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.

The Wolverines, who are off to their best start since 2000, scored twice in the second half to secure the win. Freshman Michelle Peck (Abingdon, Md./Bel Air) scored at 51:00, following an assist from sophomore Stephanie Wild (Carmel, Ind./Heritage Christian).

Grove City added an insurance goal in the 85th minute as sophomore Laura Shipley (Austin, Texas/St. Michael's Academy) scored her second goal of the season. Sophomore Sara Griffin (Marilla, N.Y./Nardin Academy) assisted Shipley.

In goal, sophomore Diana Pragel (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) stopped four shots for her second complete shutout of the year. Grove City owned a 22-8 edge in shots.

Grove City will visit Baldwin-Wallace Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
