Westminster nips Grove City, 1-0
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to host Westminster Wednesday afternoon in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament semifinals. Westminster, the No. 2 seed, advances to Saturday's finals. Third-seeded Grove City is eliminated with a 9-7-2 overall record.
Westminster (13-5-1) took its 1-0 lead at 3:36 as Kaitlyn Etzel-Hardman scored off a corner kick.
Westminster owned a 22-8 edge in total shots. For Grove City, sophomore goalkeeper Diana Pragel (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) stopped 11 shots.
Grove City had reached the PAC Championship Tournament each of the last six seasons, winning twice. In 2005, Grove City upset Westminster in the tournament semifinals.
