Wolverines earn draw at Allegheny
MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team remained undefeated by earning a 0-0, double-overtime draw against host Allegheny Wednesday afternoon at Frank B. Fuhrer Field. Grove City is now 4-0-1 this season.
Junior goalkeeper Bethany Preston (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) preserved the tie by making a season-high 11 saves. Preston had not started in goal for Grove City since Nov. 6, 2005 at Thomas More. She has not allowed a goal in her last 346 minutes of playing time.
Allegheny (1-3-1) owned a 22-14 edge in shots. Grove City had two corner kicks, both in the second overtime, while Allegheny had one corner kick.
At 4-0-1, Grove City is off to the best five-match start in program history.
Grove City will host La Roche Saturday afternoon in non-conference play at 12 p.m.
