Fredonia State slips past Wolverines

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team fell to 2-1 overall Friday evening as host Fredonia State (2-1) rallied for a 3-1 win over the Wolverines in the opening round of the Days Inn Classic.

Grove City grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 31:11 mark as junior forward Hannah Yang (Davis, Calif./Davis) recorded her fourth goal of the season with an unassisted blast from the top of the box. Fredonia State tied the match at 40:10 on Reilly Condidorio's penalty kick goal.

Fredonia State pulled ahead at 67:37 on a goal from Jessica Loretz. Condidorio added an insurance goal at 77:00 to close the scoring. Driving rain fell throughout the second half.

Fredonia State out-shot Grove City, 18-10. Senior goalkeeper Diana Pragel (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) recorded two saves for the Wolverines.

Saturday, Grove City will face Rochester in the second day of the Days Inn Classic at 3 p.m.
