Behrend nips Grove City, 2-1

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team fell to 3-3 overall Tuesday afternoon with a 2-1 home setback against Penn State Behrend in a non-conference match at College Field.

Behrend (1-4-1) took a 1-0 lead at 26:23 as Erin McCreary scored the first of her two goals on the afternoon. Nikki Frisbee assisted the goal.

Grove City forged a 1-1 tie at 60:00 on an unassisted goal by junior Hannah Yang (Davis, Calif./Davis). It is Yang's team-leading fifth goals of the season. However, McCreary scored her second goal of the match at 67:19 to put the Lions ahead to stay.

Penn State Behrend owned a 16-13 edge in shots and a 5-1 corner kick advantage. For Grove City, senior goalkeeper Diana Pragel (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) stopped three shots.

The loss snaps Grove City's seven-match home win streak against non-conference foes in the regular season.

Grove City hosts John Carroll Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m.
