Mount Union nips Wolverines

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's soccer team dropped to 3-4-2 overall Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 setback at Mount Union in a non-conference match at Mount Union Stadium.

Mount Union (3-4-1) broke a scoreless tie at the 21:51 mark as Deidre Dick scored off a deflected save. Grove City out-shot Mount Union 9-4 in the second half but the Wolverines could not forge a tie.

In goal, senior Diana Pragel (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) stopped eight shots. Seven of her eight saves came in the first half. For the game, Mount Union owned a 15-11 edge in shots. Grove City had three corner kicks while the Purple Raiders had two.

Grove City will visit Carnegie Mellon Wednesday night in a non-conference match at 7:30 p.m. The Wolverines will begin Presidents' Athletic Conference action next Saturday, October 4 against Thiel.
