TMC tops Grove City, 2-0

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team fell to 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Friday afternoon as the Wolverines dropped a 2-0 decision to visiting Thomas More (10-5, 4-1) in a PAC match at College Field.

Following a scoreless first half, Thomas More broke through at 46:03 as Taylor Stoll scored an unassisted goal. The Saints then added an insurance goal at 76:40 as Lauren Wietmarschen scored an unassisted goal.

Thomas More out-shot Grove City (8-6-2, 3-1), 18-9, including an 11-3 edge in the second half. Each team had two corner kicks.

Senior goalkeeper Diana Pragel (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) stopped seven shots for Grove City. The Wolverines had won five straight matches, all by shutout. Grove City's shutout streak reached 525 minutes, 11 seconds before Thomas More scored.

Grove City will host Chatham next Thursday, October 23 at 4 p.m. in PAC action.
