W&J edges Grove City, 1-0
WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team fell to 9-7-2 overall and 4-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Saturday afternoon with a 1-0 setback against host Washington & Jefferson at Alexandre Stadium.
W&J (11-5-1, 3-1-1 PAC) broke a scoreless tie at the 62:07 mark as Elizabeth Bendick scored off a corner kick.
Grove City out-shot the Presidents, 9-8, including a 7-1 edge in the first half. Senior goalkeeper Diana Pragel (Rochester, N.Y./Greece Arcadia) stopped three shots for Grove City. W&J goalkeeper Jackie Foltz stopped also three shots.
Grove City will visit Westminster Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. in PAC action.
